Decorative Flower:
Rnd 1: In mc: ch 4, 2 trc, ch 4 and sl st into ring, ch 3, 4 dc, ch 3 and sl st into ring, ch 4, 2 trc, ch 4 and sl st into ring, sc 3, sl st and fasten off with long tail for sewing.
I made three and sewed them in the pattern of Patrick’s pants in the cartoon on the front. (The front of the hat is the side with more stitches when you fold the hat in half using the ear flaps). You can make as many as you’d like and sew them wherever you want.
Braids: (Optional)
Step 1: Cut six 3 inch strands in each color of yarn (pink, light green, and purple).
Step 2: Take three strands of each color and loop all six strands through the bottom of either ear flap.
Step 3: Braid tightly and tie a knot at the bottom once you’ve finished braiding.
Step 4: Repeat on other ear flap.
Make sure you braid both braids close (evenly) in length and then trim the excess yarn.
There you have it, your very own Patrick Star hat! As my favorite character of the Spongebob series I decided to make this pattern since I’ve never seen one before. I might do other Spongebob characters soon so be on the lookout for those. If you liked this pattern let me know and I might update it with different sizes in the future.
