This is a crochet pattern by one of my favorite crochet artists Projectarian. You can find her website here: https://www.projectarian.com and check her out on Instagram @projectarian. She does amazing work and has great patterns worth checking out.
This pattern is a paid pattern, and I bought it a few years ago for Christmas. I made one for my sister and myself, and I fell in love with them. They are floppy, squishy and nice to hold. Even though I bought this pattern a few years ago, I still go back to it time and time again. I’ve also experimented with them many times with different types of yarn and different sized hooks.
The pattern itself is very simple and even has a little Hubble icon to help you and give you tips throughout the pattern. This makes the pattern very beginner friendly. The pattern purchase also came with a technique booklet to help you with sewing techniques and other amigurumi-related things. It is also a quick pattern, I can have one of these squids done within two hours, and it requires little sewing. The only part sewn are the eyes, the tentacles are crocheted into the work which I thought was clever, and it helps make the finished product look clean and well put together. I also really like the way the designer used single-crochet increases and single-crochet decreases to create the shape of the top of the head.
This crochet pattern is very well put together and perfect for crocheters of all levels. I would go as far as to say this is one of my favorite patterns and I’ve made so many squids, and I’d happily make more. I love this pattern so much that I offer these squids as made-to-order items in my Etsy shop here. I recommend you check out this pattern and go give the designer some love and support.
