LED Crochet Hook Set Review

LED Crochet Hook Set

I’m sure this is a product that many of you have seen before on social media sites that have ads. I personally saw this product many times scrolling through Instagram and it caught my attention. I found the idea interesting and wanted to check it out for myself. So I asked for one for my birthday, and my boyfriend pulled through and got me one. My boyfriend said he ordered the set shown in the photo from Amazon, and you can find this same set using this link here. There are many different versions of this type of crochet hook, but I will be reviewing the hook set from the photo above.

Looking at listings on Amazon, these crochet hook sets can range from $12 up to $35 depending on which set you choose to purchase. The hook set I am reviewing here is $22.95 and has free shipping with Amazon Prime. I personally think this hook set is worth the money and a good choice for first-time buyers.

As you can see in the picture above, this hook set comes with nine detachable resin hook tips in the following sizes: 2.5mm, 3 mm, 3.5mm, 4mm, 4.5mm, 5mm, 5.5mm, 6mm, and 6.5mm. It also includes a USB charger, the base of the hook (which is the part that lights up), a tool to help you attach the hooks, and a bag of stitch markers. I love the hook sizes included in this set because they are the range of hook sizes I normally use, and they are easy to change. This hook set is rechargeable though there are listings on Amazon that have LED crochet hooks with batteries instead. I don’t mind the rechargeable aspect of this set because it holds charge well and lasts up to nine hours.

When I worked with this product for the first time, it was an interesting and new experience. First, I used the hook as I would a normal one in a lit room. I was surprised with how easy this hook was to work with and how strong the hook tips were. Then I turned off the lights to test out the functionality of this product. There are two brightness settings for you to choose from. The first brightness setting I recommend for when you’re working in the dark since it’s the brighter of the two. The second brightness setting I recommend for when you’re using dark colors or need help seeing stitches since it’s the dimmer option. I was surprised with how much I loved this product and how much I enjoy crocheting in the dark.

The only concern that I have with this product is that while you’re using either brightness setting in the dark, I could see how it could induce a seizure in someone who is prone to them. This is due to the fact that as you work the movement of the light creates somewhat of a flashing light. Other than that, I have had no problem with this light-up crochet hook. I have fallen in love with this product and recommend all crocheters who want to give it a shot.

I hope this crochet product review was helpful and maybe introduced you to something new. If you liked this post and this kind of content, please let me know. If you have any suggestions for future crochet reviews, leave a comment below.
