Color Block Sweater Pattern Review

Today, I’ll be talking about this lovely color-block sweater from SreyPheak. One night, while scrolling through Pinterest, I stumbled upon this pattern. I bought this pattern for $5.70 from the Etsy shop CoolyarnsByPheak. It was actually my first time making a sweater, and I had a lot of fun doing it. Keep reading if you’re interested in my opinion of this pattern!

I want to start off by saying that this pattern is very beginner friendly. As I mentioned above, this was my first sweater pattern and it was very easy to understand. The designer included all of the necessary measurements and customization notes, and the pattern itself was simple to read. If you are a beginner or a crocheter that wants to expand your knowledge into making clothes, this would be the pattern for you. It’s also very stylish and super comfy.

Let’s talk yarn! This pattern recommends using two colors of DK (weight 3) yarn with a 5mm crochet hook. I ended up using worsted (weight 4) yarn instead of DK because it’s what I had available on hand. Using the worsted weight yarn definitely made a difference in the size, my sweater ended up being oversized which I prefer anyway. I did use a 5mm crochet hook as well. I also used stitch markers to help keep everything lined up when I was sewing.

You start the pattern off by making the front and back panels first. The designer even includes a tutorial for a clean way of changing the colors throughout making these panels. Next, you make the sleeves and then just sew everything together. This whole project took me about eight hours in total and I used about a skein and a half of each color.

In conclusion, I have nothing bad to say about this color-block sweater. Everything was included, from measurements to photos, customization options, etc., that was needed to complete this project. This was definitely worth every penny, and I intend to buy from this designer again in the future. Check it out and show them some love. Now I’m going to go enjoy my new favorite sweater!
